Pinky babies this time of year?!

I just got a text from the rehab coordinator at our zoo, and he has 3 pinky squirrels for me! What the heck?! Don't they know it's too lateto have babies!

Certainly looks like Eastern Grey babies, but I guess they all look similar without fur!

I had a nursing mom at the feeder today. Somone said her teets looked like she had 5 week old babies . Pinkies are extreme though! So cute

I have a wild foxer in my yard whom I feed and she is def nursing....going to freeze tonight too....hope they all stay warm.

Luckily, momma did a great job when she had them, and they made it to the zoo shortly after being separated. So far, aside from a bit of slow digestion, everyone is doing well. They are very new, at 25-27g, and will go to a new volunteer once they get a bit bigger.:grin2
