First and foremost I except that Squirrels are WILD and they need to be in the wild . I was bitten for the first time today since I have had these babies...: I can not figure out what was different??? I know that they are very sensitive to smell and other things? The boy that bite me was making a sound I had not heard before... Well its over now and they will not be getting out of there cage tonight for play time !!!! I can't imagine what I would do if he attacked my face like he did my hand....I can't wait till they can be released to there natural environment .I am thankful that I could save there sweet lives but look forward to letting them be in the wild as well.:serene

Sorry you got bit but although there can be varying reasons as to why,
getting bit is just part of handling wildlife. It goes with the territory.
Could he possibly have a (food) stash you got too close to?
They can become quite aggressive over their possessions.

It will not be the last time. We all learned that lesson and yet I still fall for it!

Yep, if I give a shelled or unshelled nut, it comes from my pocket, which the fuzzers learn very quickly to look for them there. :grin2 Or I leave it in the cage for them to find later. Yes, I too had to be bitten to learn my lesson from my "sweet" Angel boy. :tilt
