I have a 3 to 4 week old baby grey squirrel that I've had for4 days now and starting at around 4:00 this morning she had a little bit of blood mixed in with her poop but it was still normal and not diarrhea. Since then more and more blood is coming out. I called my vet and he said that it was probably because she was switched from her mothers milk to the formula. I would like a second opinion on this because it didn't quite sound right to me. I am feeding her puppy replacer milk and she seems to still be eating well and doing fine but I'm very concerned. I've raised squirrels before an this as never happened.

The vet is prob right...... what formula are you feeding and how much of it how often?
We would recommend that you feed Esbilac with Probiotics puppy formula.

She gets fed the PetAg brand milk replacer plus for puppies it does contain probiotics and she gets about 2cc every 3-4 hours.

It's not the same. If you want what we find works best, get the Esbilac:
How much does he weigh? You sill need a scale if you don't have one. It tells how much to feed, how progress is going, and how to dose drugs, if necessary. They should get 5-7% of body weight.
Here is where you get nipples:

Are you going to try to raise him yourself, or do you want us to try to find someone. Do you have proper formula, syringes, and a scale?
Please follow proper feeding technique - head pointed down, syringe up:

The Esbilac with Probiotics is what she needs. Ditto to the above comments.
And yes. Blood, although scary can be just from irritation of the intestinal lining. And is probably exactly what your vet said. ESP if there is no diarrhea.
I know it sounds like we are being picky about the formula and that we must all have stock in it :P But we don't. It is just what most rehabbers use because its one of the better milks. There is another brand called Fox Valley that is just as good but there have been some problems with it lately. So for kids your squirrels age.. esbilac with probiotics is the way to go.
