is it ok to put baby powder on a adult squirrel? and is it ok to give them a bath?

I don't think baby powder is something to use on any age squirrel.

It can get ingested via grooming. And the powder can get in the lungs and cause problems.

Yes its ok to give a bath. Not sure what other people have used but I ( at the advice of people here at TSB ) have used plain old blue dawn detergent.

Question for me is..... Why are you wanting to give the squirrel a bath?
For fleas or diarrhea you can use Dawn blue dish soap, for easy clean ups
you can wipe them down with natural unscented baby wipes.

All good advice. The beauty of squirrels is that they are not stinky animals by nature. Your squirrel should not have an unpleasant odor unless something is wrong; their poop doesn't even smell, unless they are sick. Urine sometimes does get stinky but if your squirrel is getting it on him, there may be something wrong. Again, they are very clean animals.

I love the way my squirrels smell! I love to hold them to my nose and smell them:grin2 So, listen to the experts here! Squirrels should never need a bath unless it is a desperate situation.
