Infant ibuprofen. Make sure it's infant. Do you have a weight for dosing?

Really need a weight to dose. Do you have a good scale in grams? What kind of squirrel or maybe do you have a pic ?

Do you know how he hurt his back. I wonder if this is something that a steroid may be able to help.
Do you know anyone that has any Prednisone?
Can you go tonight and get the infant ibuprophen, if he is in this much pain? I wouldn't wait until tomorrow.
Depending on how he hurt himself, you wouldn't want to give this with Prednisone....not even sure if Prednisone
is an option though.

I'm not sure how bad he us hurt ..how do you know it's his back? Usually if hurt you need to restrict has jumping so he doesn't make it worse. Bad cases require prednisone.....maybe. How Bad Is It Hurt Is The question?

Can you post a photo or a short video. Do you know of anyone that has and Prednisone?
Personally I would not try physical therapy yet, we don't know what the problem is and you
don't want more damage to be caused.
Does his tail just drag, or does he lift it up?
IF you find someone with Pred. we can dose it, BUT he cannot be taking ibuprophen.
The Prednisone may bring the swelling down if there is any involved.
Who gave you the dosing for the INFANT ibuprophen? Do you have a weight on him?

What makes you think she gave him 1 ml?
THAT IS A HUGE OVERDOSE! Unless your squirrel
weighs 8lb 13 oz. :shakehead

Has anyone heard from this member.
I sent an email telling her this squirrel was massively overdosed.
I told her to keep forcing fluids but not to aspirate, and stimulate him
to get the toxins out. I also asked her to please some back on the board.
She should get milk thistle as well.
I hope he's ok. :shakehead

Me too!
Please come back. We can help you dose the squirrel. What this means is that according to the squirrels weight, that is how we calculate the proper dose of any medicine.
Because squirrels are so tiny, it is really important not to give him ANY medicine, without knowing the proper dosage, because it could literally do great damage to his liver and kidneys, which are the organs needed to process meds.
Just like people that end up in the ER with overdoses, it can happen to squirrels, too.
Because we work with so many squirrels here, we know which medicines are safe for squirrels, and how to calculate the right amount to give him.
Please come back, we only want to help your little one.:Love_Icon
