We have a squirrel coming few details here is what I know

Found adult squirrel this morning attacked by cat. Injured leg.

People that had it thought they would keep it comfortable until it passed away.

Hasnt died so it is on the way to me.

I have cipro

So how much?

Also what about some pain meds if any? Have T'3s(30 mg of codeine) and I have tylenol with 8 MG of codeine

How do I does an adult squirrel without me getting hurt or me hurting the squirrel?

what else can I do for this little guy?

He will be here in about 30 mins so I will post more details as they become available to me.

What mg Cipro.
NO to all of the pain meds.
You should get infant ibuprophen and we can dose according to weight.
Do you have a vet? What state do you live in?
You may ned to cover his little face while dosing anything.
Let him first relax for a half hour or so.
Warm dark quiet.
IF you can't get a weight, you need to post a photo so we have
some idea of his size. That is NOT the ideal way, so do you have a scale?

Cipro is human grade and is 250mg

I do have infant iburprofen

Yup I have an amazing vet but he is not opened till monday (he has helped with my owls cardinal blue jays even our little flyer he did a wellness check for me a few weeks ago)

Yup have a scale -- have raised and released many many wild animals had birds with broken wings but all my squirrels, rabbits, oppossums etc that we have raised have usually been somewhat healthy maybe dehydrated or starving but not injured. So an injured one is new to me.

I will get him settled and relaxed people bringing him said he has been eating and drinking (so this is good!)

I can get a weight hubby is good at that.

So now we wait btw florida here

OK I will break the Cipro down for you and await the weight.
Also I will send the infant ibuprophen chart so you can dose after
you get the weight.
OK Florida, I was asking too because if we couldn't get a weight, I
know your greys are much smaller than us up north, incase we had to
guesstimate the weight, which I HATE to do.

They have him in a box we are going to weigh him as soon as he gets here and then remove him from the box (we have numerous cages so we pulled out a small cage for him and i just put clean fleece in it) and put him in a cage and then weigh just the box.

That should work!

Now to wait

Get the ibuprofen and antibiotic in as soon as you possibly can. Do you have a weight?

Unfortunately Honey (that is what they named her) did not make it. Her one foot was chewed off her other foot was badly damaged We did get a weight (after she died) and she was 205 grams , she looked YOUNG.

We didn't even get the cipro in her before she passed away.

At least she died warm and safe with people loving and caring for her.

Tomorrow she will be buried.

I'm so sorry that she passed.
This was probably a blessing in disguise, given
her injuries.
Thank you for caring for her and giving
her a peaceful, safe place to pass.

Rest in Peace

Than you everyone. This morning we buried her.

And her injuries were so severe she would never be releaseable, so how cruel is that to give her freedom to run and climb and be free and then to take it all away and stick her in the fish house for the rest of her life.

At least she is free once again.

Nancy I cannot thank you enough for the info you sent me I have printed it and put it away with my other supplies.

Have a great sunday everyone
