There is a female gray squirrel, approximately 12 to 13 weeks old needing an experienced caring home as her back legs are paralyzed. The gentleman that found her said that a hawk caught her and then dropped her from a height of approximately 30 feet. She was approximately 10 to 11 weeks at the time and has been being rehabbed for the past two weeks. She eats fine and goes to the bathroom fine, eating diet of rodent block, veggies and the occasional fruit or nut snack. She is also still being supplemented with about 10cc's of Fox Valley formula, slightly watered down, once per day. She is still very scared of people, but seems to be coming around. She needs someone who can devote the kind of time a handicapped squirrel needs. Please contact me if you can take her or if you know of someone who would be able to. We can deliver her in the central Florida area and meet halfway for longer distances in FL also.

Was prednisone used as part of her treatment?

I really do not know any more of her history other than what I listed above. I can ask and let you know. I kept her for her current caretaker over the weekend and offered to find a home for her. I will inquire.

Does she have an feeling or movement at all in her back end? Legs or tail? Would you be able to get prednisone if we thought it might help?

She was seen one time by a vet and given a shot of prednisone. She does not appear to have any feeling or movement in her lower legs or tail.
