Hi all, so my sweet boy bit my dad this morning, I don't know what he did to him that made him bite hard like that! Err,, He is such a sweet boy. He got him pretty good on his finger,, now my dad in my opinion, is over reacting and being an a** .He thinks he is going to get a disease, sick,,etc.*Rolls eyes* ,, so my question is how serious is a bite frm these guys? Is going to the doctor necessary? Or just some at home wound cleaning?

Your dad will be fine...... just keep the finger clean and put some Neosporin on the
wound a few times a day, no diseases will come from the bite. :)
How old is your little guy? --as they age they tend to become a one person kind of
pet and this could be what is happening here (or) if they have a nut in their hand it
is never a good ideal to come between them and the nut, as an attack will occur.
.... check for any stash of nuts in the nest box.

The only issue would be the same issue regardless of WHAT sort of puncture wound he just got - if he has not had a tetanus shot within the past 10 years he should get a booster. Tetanus is in the environment and on your skin - the trouble begins when it is shoved deep inside by some sort of puncture, be it a nail or a tooth.

I'll say what I always say when this kind of post comes up: If squirrel bites were serious then approximately 90% of the members of this Board would be......dead.
:grin3
Tell Dad to keep it clean and chill out.

:tinfoilI agree with Critter Mom a Tetanus Booster is a good thing for most everybody to have, Squirrels or No Squirrels.
On the other side I agree with everyone else. One of my rehab squirrels (Faraday) thought a day without biting me was like a day without sunshine! Little Devil:icon_devil :grin2
:squirrel2 Your dad will be fine!
