Oh my gosh, that is so, so cool! The only other squirrel cam I have seen was from an abandoned nest so not a lot to look at-haha. Anyway, I was just watching this nestbox and trying to figure out how the squirrel was situated when he sprung up and looked right at me! Well, OK maybe he was not looking at "me", but he looked in the direction of the camera. How neat is that, eh?

Thank you for posting this, jbtartell. I am going to make this a bookmark and sneak peeks frequently. I agree, though, I feel like a "peeper", too.

(I never would have seen this thread in the past, but I have been using the "new posts" feature ever since stosh2010 suggested it on TSB and it is really, really helpful.)

How neat that there is sound. I did not notice. (I tend to keep my speakers on mute since I always jump when that intro sound plays as the computer warms up.) I was curious, too, where the nest was located, but did not have any luck either. I did notice it had leaves in it like we have here in Ohio. Of course that just means it is in one of MANY states that also have those trees.

Will Greys use a nestbox such as this to have babies or will she make her own? I hope the former. That would be the ultimate cool to see them grow!

I took a peek on here yesterday AM and like my Greys when it is lousy weather, she was sleeping late. It was really neat that the rain could be heard.

yes they will have them in nest boxes I watched her wake up this morning and she did the cleaning ritual and out the door by 720.. lol and she looks very pregnant.. there is a box next to it where you can watch other videos or u can click on social and communicate on it...lol soo cool I heard the birds start and sounded like cars in the background

Wow-to be able to watch this in real time...it is going to be AMAZING!!! I know birth to weaning for mice/rats, but I do not have a clue as to what to expect from a squirrel in terms of the development phase. It will be really interesting to see the differences between the species. I am so glad you shared this, jbtartell. It is a rare and wonderful opportunity to watch b to w of a squirrel litter. I hope someone has a way to record it because it could be very helpful if posted on a thread in the baby squirrel category.
