I am in my 8 th rescue now. I have done a lot of research and would love to make it legit. Does anyone know the steps to take and best way to go about it? I have done some research but any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shellon

It's going to depend on the State you wish to obtain a license from.
The criteria can vary between States as to their requirements.

This is something I've been considering as well. I've done quite a bit of research on my states requirements, but I think the legalities are just a small part of making the decision to commit yourself to this lifestyle. Here is an excellent thread on this topic. It brings up several aspects of being a licensed rehabber that I hadn't thought of, and helped me to see some pros & cons. :goodbad

Your compassion for injured & orphaned wildlife is a wonderful thing. :Love_IconOur world is sorely lacking in people who respect Mother Nature and work to protect her and her creatures. If this is in your heart and is feasible for your situation, then by all means, do it. :grouphug
