I found a wet baby flying squirrel about 6 weeks old and keeps on clicking. Either pneumonia or teeth i dont know. How do i dry him? My mom isnt home and i cant drive! I just want him to survive the night so i can get him to a vet tommorow. Help please!! I have him in my sugar gliders bonding pouch at the moment.

Can you put rice in a sock and tie the end shut, then put in the microwave for 45 seconds squish it around so there are no hot spots. And put it in the pouch with him to warm him up . Other will be along to help more. :grouphug

Do you have a heating pad? That would be best.
Wrap wet baby in toilet paper or soft paper towel to absorb as much water as possible, place in the bonding pouch, and put on to of some t-shirts in a little plastic container on the heating pad, set on low.
Until it warms up, YOU are an excellent source of heat. If you are a girl, your bra is an excellent place for a baby flyer and many of our flyer people do this all the time.
The rice thing mentioned before:
Pour some uncooked dry rice into a sock and tie it off so it doesn't pour out, My micro takes about 30 seconds, but you need to first mush it around in your hands so the heat is evenly distributed, then hold it against your cheek for 30 seconds to make absolutely sure it is not too hot.
Do NOT warm the baby too quickly - I know you want to, but it is NOT good.
The baby needs to be thoroughly warm before you give it anything to eat or drink. I will do a 2nd post for that.

Once baby is warm, he needs hydration.
Mix 1 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 quart water
This is a homemade hydration fluid.
You need to administer this via a substitute for the mama's nipple. What have you got available to you? A 1cc or .5cc syringe without the needle is ideal. A small eyedropper is not but if you are careful, will do.
Tell us what you can find to use for this BEFORE you try to give anything.

Can you put him to your ear and listen closely? Here is a video of a reg sq, but flyers may not really have an audible click:

Its not that. Its more of a 5 clicks 1 second. Then stops for awhile. Then again.

Clicking is usually fairly consistent. If you held him close and reorient him, can you tell if it's the chest or head?

Its his mouth teeth area.

Probably OK then. Just hydrate him.
What do you plan to do with him? Should you be getting some formula or is he bound for elsewhere?
Also, follow proper technique for hydration/feeding - head pointed down, syringe up:

Flyers do have an audible click, sounds exactly the same. Constant or regular
clicking is a sign of pneumonia. Baby will need antibiotics ASAP, so please do get him a vet tomorrow. I hope you are in a state where it is legal to have squirrels. All medicines are dosed by weight.

I plan on getting him to a early adult stage and then letting him go. In texas we are allowed to own a southern flying squirrel. And thank you both so much you just saved his life.

You may need him to be checked by an expert first, for his optimum chances for survival. These little ones are VERY fragile.

How did you stabilize him? Can you get him to a vet tonight?
If he has pneumonia, that is deadly and he needs antibiotics.

Only Mrs. Skul's cell phone is connected right now. If you still haven't been able to reach her, feel free to text her with "911 TSB Flying Squirrel". That way she will know it is a time sensitive matter. This is what she has asked me to tell others who need her help, so don't be shy! She really does want to help. She just gets busy sometimes with her hubby and gets sidetracked. She knows so much about flyers and loves educating others about them.
