I have my first neuro baby. He has been on fox valley but he is going on 7 weeks and is wanting to chew. He doesn't have very good fine motor skills and I'm not sure that he ever will. I keep henry blocks and hold them for him to nibble on. Any info would be greatly appreciated on things to order for him including vitamins. Thanks

:Welcome I am sure others will be along soon. It's still a little busy around here with so many babies right now. One thing, have you checked his teeth to make sure they are lining up? One little neuro girl I had named Little Louise (who is now with Czarina), had a bad head and jaw injury and her bottom teeth came in at a 45 degree angle. If the bottom and top teeth don't line up where they naturally grind themselves down then they will have to be trimmed. Pictures of your little one would be great.
You will want to provide antlers, a cuttle bone or hard shell nuts so he can gnaw on. I don't know of other supplements or dietary changes specific to neuro squirrels but specific issues with yours may help determine what's best. There are many here who have them who can provide you with more information.

We had a person at TSB some time ago - she is still a member and posts occasionally, who had a profoundly neuro baby named Christine. She came up with all sorts of adaptationf for the cage, etc., but my favorite was her horizontal skewer idea.
Get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Jungle-Talk-Garden-Kabob-Small/dp/B000F1YK0A
The end is threaded and screws in to the top. You unscrew it, put the food on the kebab, put the top back, and mount it horizontally at convenient eating height! A wobbly squirrel that has trouble holding anf eating can use this! :thumbsup

Thanks for the info on the feeder. I'll definitely order it. I'll post pics also but he looks normal. His bite is good too. He just suffered head trauma. I'm guessing from his fall out of his nest. His right eye is out of alignment though. You can see some of the white at the bottom. He does the circles also.

This is little Christine's thread: http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?15489-Christine-s-Chronicles-One-squirrel-s-return-from-head-trauma&highlight=
It is very long but I bet if you look through it you will find lots of ideas for caging and care, and I am sure that her mama Legomom would be pleased to know that maybe what she did with her baby might be able to help another one.
