Found a baby a few days ago, we have been feeding it ferret food and water while looking for somewhere to take her for medical help. I live in Atlanta,GA and have had a very hard time finding anyone with answers on who to contact, how to help it, or where to take it. The closest place with no answer is almost an hour away and I can't drive that far and find out they won't take it. How do we care for this broken leg so she can be released and is what we are feeding her ok?
Thank you, Jessica

Hey jessica,, well ferret food isnt really good for them considering they dont eat meat. They need rodent blocks(mouse food). And fruits&veggies. I dont know how long you plan on keeping the baby but u can get rodent blocks for pretty cheap at a pet store in the mean time. And as far as tha babies leg, how do you know it's broken? Doesn't move it at all? A broken/fractured leg would need a vet :/ . A sprain will heal in time. I wish i could tell you how to know for sure if it is broken but a vet would have that info :/.

I have a vet that will see him if you don't find anyone closer. Wednesday afternoons are my vet's surgery days (if that is necessary), so it would be ideal to have the little guy looked at Tuesday (tomorrow) in case he/she needs surgery (do they have a name?). I asked about which general vicinity of Atlanta because I need to make a trip to Emory tomorrow, so if you'd like some assistance please let me know.

Kaytee Forti-Diet blocks (blue bag) are available at many pet stores.

I'll ask to have your subject line changed to get more local attention...
