I have no formula, nothing. My uncle found 2 babies in the yard and the mother would not pick them up. He picked them up after a bit more than an hour later because of fear a cat or two would pick them up instead.

Been trying to give them water, but they're lethargic, and not drinking. I'm worried. Can Anybody in the area take them in? They look like they're 5 weeks old. I'm worried for them :/

Get them on some LOW heat and do not feed anything by mouth until they are warm.
Remember put the heating pad under the container and put it on LOW.
Cover them up with fleece or something, and they will get warmer faster.
Are you using a syringe? If so, feed in an upright position.

So cute! See if you can get some 1 cc syringe's from the drugstore. Tell them you are feeding a kitten. You can mix up 3 Tablespoons of sugar with 4 cups water and try feeding that to them. Make sure the sugar water is warm and that they are too.

Here are some things you can do right now until we locate someone.

If you use a rice buddy wrap it in an old t-shirt.

It's our pleasure! These guys are a-dor-a-ble! Skalar did a great job and we picked up around 10. They seem healthy and warm. To be cautious, we waited an hour to try to hydrate and kept them on heat and fleece. Unfortunately we did not have any success and maybe got a drop or 2 in each squirrel. Their weights are 62 and 68 grams. Any advise on getting them to drink? How often can we try?
In the close up picture you can see he is tenting.

Thx

Are you using the Homemade Pedialyte Recipe and offering it warm?

1 cup hat water
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar

..... I would offer 2cc every 2 hours over night
..... add a little extra sugar if it helps entice them to drink

That is prob why they are not drinking any fluids then... not sweet enough.
Always be safe and just make it it homemade --they need to drink.

Homemade Pedialyte

I just wanted to thank you again for going above and beyond.
Seriously you know you are their life saver.
This may be a long night. I sure hope they drink for you.
Some like it really warm, some with a nipple, some without.
It's just such a guessing game to start.
I highly doubt this, but perhaps they need stimulation to start.
I know that some times mine will stop in the middle of eating,
to take a potty break.
I highly doubt there is too much in their little systems, but it could
be worth a shot.
Thank you again, and if you want me to take some of the night duties,
just give me a call. :):Love_Icon:Love_Icon

Little update.

These guys are doing well.
They were rehydrated for half a day.
One of the little ones was a little sick.
He had diarrhea and refused to drink or eat for a while.
We had to literally open his mouth and place the syringe in and get him to drink tiny amounts at at time.
Same with his formula when we moved to feeding.

He is now better, has solid poops and bites my finger for more formula if I'm not fast enough getting it to him!

Both brothers are strong and gaining weight. :grin3
