I had posted another thread that I had found a litter of 3 babies one of which had only 3 legs which had healed. He has come around so nicely and is now on formula and has explored rodent blocks. I feel he is now past the "I don't know if he will make it phase. He gets around good and uses his little stub as an arm wrapping it around stuff but he would never survive in the wild. Is there anyone located around NJ (experienced of course) that could offer this little one a forever home. Please pm me or respond here. In my other thread it has videos of them as well. The baby is also very sweet and would hang out with you all day if you let him. I've attached a couple pics so you can see when I found him to now242809242810242811242812242813

Hi there! I am by no means a professional rehabilitator, nor do I claim to be. Having said all of that, I have been raising and rehabilitating wildlife as long as I can remember. I've learned throughout the years by observing and helping my mom who has raised all sorts of in need wildlife including rabbits, raccoons, birds, squirrels, and everything in between. I myself have raised my fair share of wildlife and would love to again. I grew up and currently live in the country where it is widely accepted seeing as it is inevitable for many of us to find ourselves with in need animals. I would be more than happy to raise, love, and be the forever home of your little in need squirrel if you're willing to grace me with this opportunity!

Oh my goodness, I wish he was closer, I would take him in a heartbeat. How darling! Looks like there are quite a few members who would take him (who wouldn't?), if we can't find someone closer, maybe we could start a squirrel train? :dono

How does he feel about Cajun cooking?

I know you will find him a wonderful forever home, but, if he decides he wants to come south.......................:grin3

He is absolutely precious. You must be so proud. Thank you for caring for him.

I was hoping to find him a home closer that wouldn't require a lot of traveling. I have a lot of personal things going on and taking a road trip for a day seems nearly impossible right now since everything is so hectic. I want to be able to find him someone he can bond with soon since he is still with his siblings and is still very friendly.

If there was a way to just house him with my 6 month old it would be problem solved lol

Any luck? Maybe you can try to intro the two together but t he you would need an enormous cage!

This is my 6 months old cage.. But would anyone have any tips on how to go about it, the cages are right by each other and they all sniff each other nose to nose but if any are out she doesn't like that they climb on her cage.

maybe, a squirrel train could be worked out?
I know how busy everyone is right now, but at least it's worth asking.
Say, if he could go to pappy - at least it's on the same coast. Maybe, there are ppl between you and pappy who could help squirrel train him to her? Maybe, start a thread with a sq train in the title from NJ to MA or something like that...
