My 18 month old squirrel appears to have a bloody nose. I can no longer get close to him, but it appears to be bloody and his face looks kind of swollen.
Last week he looked as if he had a severely bloody wound on his neck, but the next day it was gone. Two days after he had a bloody nose for a couple of days. This week his nose is bloody and his face looks a little swollen. He also seemed out of it today. Usually when I go into the patio, and he's sleeping, he'll come out and be alert and will attack me if I don't feed him his blocks and then nuts. Today, I was there for awhile and he only came out bc I scared him when I moved his house to clean. He seemed much more tame today. He was staying near me. I only get rid of him when he goes to bury a nut I give him so he won't attack me, but today as he slowly climbed outside the window, I went up to him and fed him a shelled nut. He took them out of my hand and didn't run away like he usually does. He stayed two feet away where I could look up into his face. After the second nut I noticed a pool of mucus collect on his nose. (The blood is under his nose and on his mouth) It dripped off but more accumulated until he cleaned himself and licked the mucus off his hands. He also tried to clean his nose earlier. I was wondering if he's ok. I know he's a boy and fights, but him not being mean to me scares me. I so wanted to pick him up and hold him like I used to! He busted his nose when he was younger and came running to me:(
He broke a toe and lost a toe while fighting, and also a piece of his ear. He's huge so it blows my mind he gets beat up. My little 13 month old girl chases bigger squirrels than herself out of her yard, but henry is having issues!
