This morning I saved a baby squirrel from my dog. It must have fallen from it's nest. It seems physically OK, it had a bloody nose for a while. That has since stopped. It does try to crawl around but basically goes in a circle then curls up and sleeps? Not sure if that's just a baby thing, or a neurological problem. I made a nest with a box and some leaves, I made a rice sock heating pad and put that under the box. I'm worried about the neighborhood cats, and it becoming dehydrated. I also don't know if I'll be able to get up high enough to put it in a tree. The mother did come half way down the tree, but then quickly ran back up. I really haven't seen her since then, that was about an hour and a half ago. I live in Florida it will be very hot soon, and I'm worried that with the neighboring dogs barking in their back yards, and the possibility of cats coming in the yard the mom won't go get her baby. What should I do? The tree is very tall and the branch that I see a possible nest on is VERY high. Just want to help it, but I don't know what to do.

Have given advice via PM on how to re-hydrate, bedding and attempt to re-unite with mom later today. Baby has eyes open.

He just goes around counter clock wise so he is on pred, has been hydrated, about 4 cc's of pedialyte. Has been pottied got very yellow pee.

here he is eating...he keeps his right eye closed , stays curled up and is getting sugar water , then some formula, then water again, only 2 cc's each feeding and every 2 hours.

Is he eating ok? I couldn't hear the video too well (poor quality sound here).
Is he turning his head to the left because he can't see the nipple or he's trying to see your hand? That's what my one eyed squirrel did, too.
Or do you think it's a neuro thing? Again, I couldn't hear what you were saying so sorry if you explained in the video.

He is cute and really red in color, light....

He took 4 cc's of formula for me today,at 2 different feeding!!
He opened his eye that he wouldnt open before, moving better and peeing well for me!!!!
I don't like using Pred , but in this case , it is wonderful.

He is doing better slowly, but I have moved him from a bin to an 18x18x18 cage, I think he likes it.
He is moving around and not in a tight ball any more.
