I found the cats playing with an injured squirrel. It can't move it's back legs. I've called wildlife and rehabs and everyone's either closed or will not take it. Any suggestions??

Cat saliva can be toxic to squirrels. Until you find help place it in a plastic container lined with flannel, fleece or old t-shirts. Place the container half on a heating pad. If you don't have a heating pad a plastic bottle filled with hot water and placed in an old sock will work. Warm, dark and quiet right now. You can try to give it re-hydrating solution for the time being. No food and no cows milk.
Re-hydrating Recipe
1 quart water
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Feed this very warm using a 1cc syringe if you have one. Most pharmacies will give you one if you say you are feeding a kitten. Eyedroppers and pet nurser bottle put out too much at once. Go very slow, even one drop at a time.
Hopefully someone closer will be on in just a bit to help you.

So you have her in custody? We have many members in FL, so hopefully we can find someone to take it if you have it. it will need antibiotics.

Yes I still have it. No wounds. Just can't use it's hind legs.

I'm sorry you're not getting a lot of action here. I think it's the holiday. Let me PM a couple people who might know who's in that area.

Sorry company here, and I only check this periodically.
I will look on our board for someone, but I think that Gayle will have better luck.
Broward County, is Ft. Lauderdale in that county?

This little one needs to get some antibiotics into him fast!
Please come back to the board while we are tying to help you.
Even if you just keep up this thread on your screen, and keep refreshing
we are here to help, and your little one needs help badly.

Broward County is Fort Lauderdale.
Maybe Jeff and Sherry would know someone (Quagmire)?

He won't drink the rehydration. Too scared. But email me if anyone knows a rescuer near me. All the ones I called are closed or said no.

I pray the little one was dropped off to a safe rescuer so it is not euthanized.
I would start him on some Prednisone as well to see if it helps with the legs.

Anyone in Broward county with injured wildlife of any kind can take it to the Wild Bird Care Center now known as the South Florida Wildlife Center off of SR 84 and US-1.
Very well respected rehab center and they take anything..... and I mean anything.
