I am devastated. I have been feeding my neighborhood squirrels for years and love learning about them from watching them. My next door neighbor has put what look like bait traps up on the roof of their house. This is the exact route the squirrels take to get to my yard. I know my neighbors hate the squirrels. She called them "dirty rats" and they "leave their poop all over the place". She also complains about peanut shells in her yard. What can I do??? I am just broken hearted. Thanks.

I know this sounds bizarre, but you need to get a water gun or the like that will shoot a stream of water far enough to hit the,. Then it is your choice - you can buy ammonia or you can use your own urine! Spray the traps - hit each one with a stream, and refresh if it rains hard and your neighbors won't know they are not working.

Yaaay, Great news! The heat from the sun must have melted the glue holding the bait on the roof, because it has slipped off the roof, and behind a shed. Hopefully those neighbors won't notice that it is no longer on their roof and my squirrels and I can get on with our lives. Thanks everyone for your great ideas. I will definitely try the super soaker if the neighbors put the bait back up.
