Ok. I have sunshine. She is I dunno how many weeks old. But she has ONE eye open and weighs 90 grams. She has doubled her weight in one week. She had and has been in with 5 25-35 gram pinkies.

I am afraid they will be trampled by her as she is becoming more active. I do not know her history except she has been kept with the pinkies as they came in to my permit holder before i got them.

She is only about 20 grams less than my Tessa and Basil and they are about 5 -6 weeks they are about 110 grams. They are in with Pip who is about 7 weeks and is 145 grams.

I have to put her with some group ! Should I leave her with the pinkies or put her in with the big guys? Since EVERYONE's Eyes are open in the big guys how do I know if they accept her?

I would personally put her in with the older squirrels. At their young age the group should accept her just fine and you are right to fear that she may trample or hurt the smaller pinkies if she stays in with them. I would place her in with the bigger group after they have all drank their formula and watch over them carefully to see how they interact..... if all goes well, she can remain in the cage with them --if you still feel they need more time to become acquainted then try again tomorrow (and switch blankets to allow them to get use to each other scents).

How do I know if it goes well? I assume snuggling would be ok?

She should do fine. I agree, put them together after feeding. There may be some initial growls and posturing but usually at this age they take to each other in an instant and it's just a big ole pile of fluffy tails.

I had my litter of two in with some bigger ones until the big ones started getting way too active so now they are in with my pinkies. It's the squirrel shuffle! :grin2

I totally agree -- put her in with the older ones. she will start learning squirrelly skills from them right away and they will also stick together at release time. She could accidentally trample the poor little pinks who can't get out of her way. :)

We'll then tomorrow will be her big day. I went a head and took her out and put her in with a snuggle sock. Cause she was Mushing everyone .

Thanks !
