I have a friend that has had a squirrel since it fell out of a tree 3 yrs ago and now he needs to find someone that can take it off his hands due to family issues that have came up. This prob should be someone that can continue to keep it inside because being 3 yrs inside, Im thinking it's not good to release it into the wild but I could be wrong. If there is someone out there in Lakeland, FL that can help, please reply or message me and then I can give a number to call and see about relocating this squirrel to someone that has the time to take care of it.

"take it off his hands" wasn't the best way to put that...especially on this board. I can already feel the fur rising...

Details about the squirrel? Male/female? Personality (fairly friendly or anti-social)? Any limitations or disabilities? Any other information is always appreciated (and pics do wonders!) :D

Some time when you need help and you may not write the right things in a post "take it off there hands" was not the right thing to say.

BUT THIS PERSON NEEDS A LITTLE HELP!

is there some one out there that can help this person?

Personally, I was fine with the wording. Yes, please, let's get them help. We have many FL members.

If this thread doesn't go anywhere in the next day, just follow up and maybe we can change the title to get the FL members attention.

Is there a time frame win which this needs to be done?

Got any pics? They always help! Also, a history of diet and care would be good.

OK, guys, chill out. Clearly, Intimidator is posting for a friend and took the time to find one of the best places he or she could find to do this. So how about we help?

Intimidator, is there any way you can give us any info on the squirrel? We have MANY members in Florida, so you have come to a good place, but this is a big commitment, so whoever might step forward wants as much info as they can get.

If I were closer, I would love him/her.
Yes please post some additional info and some photos.
I'm sure someone here can help.

I will get some pics and more info up soon but I have to agree that take it off his hands is NOT wording it wrong bad or otherwise especially when his mom has acute lukemia and has only 4-6 months to live and shes at her 6 months now so I wasnt especially concerned how the wording was. And ty crittermom for the support!!

Please don't worry about the wording! What counts is that you are trying to find help for this animal. How sad a story this is, too. I live in FL but my landlady would pitch a fit if I brought another critter in. But I surely would LOVE to take it. Hope someone comes along who can.....soon.
From what little I know, it should not be released to the wild after such a length of time. But some others here know a LOT more.
Annie
PS You are doing a wonderful thing!

more info on the squirrel and its disposition would be nice to have. Thanks.

We have been in contact with the OP and could possibly take the squirrel if no one closer can be found. We are probably about 5 1/2 hours from Lakeland. we have all the squirrel stuff to provide a long term, loving home for Mr. Jingles.

Joey sent me some pics of the squirrel named Mr. Jingles. He is a 3 yr old male and gets about 4 hours out of cage playtime a day on average. Joey is trying to find someone close to Lakeland but we are keeping in touch in case he needs our help. I will try to post pics here.

I'll ask someone to re-title this to get FL members attention.

You might also post the same thread over at the following as I think they have several southern members:
