I have just moved to Nc and finally have the room to begin rehabbing again! I live on 20 acres in the mountains with plenty of room for some critters to run and play. All im missing are the critters to rehab! I thought I'd post and let the Nc area know I am here and ready to help! I am in Macon County near the west part of Nc. very eager to rehab and have had a very successful past in doing so. Hope to hear about some critters soon!

NC will list you on their wildlife website as a licensed rehabber and you will get lots of calls. I had to take myself off because I got overwhelmed with calls. Between work, children, and personal referrals from friends, vet clinics, humane society, and animal control, I have more than I can handle.

Good luck and welcome to rehabbing in NC!

:thankyou Thanks so much for the info! Although I just moved here from Fl and am not licensed in Nc. How would I go about doing that? I wasnt even aware that you had to be licensed here. :eek

They are serious here. Luckily, I think you are not too far from Asheville. They have a wonderful wildlife center and I am almost positive that they offer classes. They are two weekends long but the woman who does the classes (or at least used to) is fantastic.

There is a great hotel close by called Brookstone Lodge https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=brookstone+lodge+asheville+nc

They have a small single room that costs around $70.00 per night with breakfast. I always stay there when I go to Asheville for work. If you don't feel like driving home, it is a very nice clean hotel.

In NC you have to take the class and then have a wildlife officer comes out to inspect your house to make sure you have a cage that is sufficient size. They are very nice people. You then pay your fee ($5) and wait for the license.
