4 year-old female who's just too human-friendly. Currently in Ft. Worth. She had been some lady's pet for 3 years. We got her, stopped handling her, overwintered her outside, released her 3 weeks ago.

She'll readily jump ON me or the next door neighbor, despite not being handled for 10 months. She just isn't appropriately afraid.
Anyone with a release cage in a more rural area that can-re-release her?
I can compensate for costs. I just don't want her killed by a skittish human, and I don't want the neighbors to report me.

If she's that friendly couldn't you just rehome her? Doesn't sound like she wilded up at all. Seems cruel and irresponsible to release her...she evidently likes hoomins:dono To me it's cruel to release an adult squirrel into a territory she has never been in....she knows none of the rules in her squirrel home :dono :thinking

I agree with Sweeper. Add to that the fact that she's old for an outdoor squirrel. Statistically, she'd be at the end of her days and now she has to learn the ropes? Can you bring her in and maybe we could find a home for her?

Maybe instead of re-releasing her, you could post for rehoming her. If she is that tame, she probably enjoys the company of humans. I'm sure someone here would love to have her. I wished I lived closer, I would love to take her. Think about it....
