Just received four pinkies.... Weights are 15 to 18 grams, they have some blood coming out of the nose apparently they took a long fall..... They checked the nest before they dropped the tree but they didn't find anything and when it hit the ground they heard squeeks and found these guys. What do I do for the blood never had this before. Warming right know, they are plump should I still do hydration? Tried to reunite but nothing came for several hours. And people were not willing to watch babies, said let nature take it course so had to bring them home.

They look pretty good, considering!
Clean their little nostrils with warm water on a Kleenex and don't worry about the blood. Just be sure everyone can breathe ok. :)
If they are plump and you get some pee that is pale pale yellow or clear, I would start formula. (dilute 3:1 just to be careful, for the first day.)

Cleaned up blood when on of them breaths more comes out so just wiping every 30 seconds no joke. I feel bad mama wasn't able to take them back but these people seemed like as soon as we left they would be squashed or thrown away had no choice. Geuss on age? Umbilical cord feel off just a nub left I'm thinking 10 days. Also one has a small cut on leg what should I put on that?

When the nub falls off they are 10 days old, so your guys are more like 4-5 days old. I wouldn't put anything on the cut, just keep it clean. Their skin is amazingly resilient and heals fast. Good thinking to get them away from the homeowners -- they do NOT sound pinky-friendly in the least.

Maura means 1 part formula to 3 parts water.
Is the Esbilac the one with probiotics?
What's the weights on these little darlings?
If you have the Esbilac with probiotics, take 1 part of that and 1 part of
FV 32/40 and that will make 1 part. To that, add 3 parts of water.
Feed them this ratio for one day, and then go to the usual 1 part formula to 2 parts water.

I think Nancy meant 1/2 part esbilac powder, 1/2 part FV powder and 3 parts water to start them.:tilt

Yes, that's what I meant.....now to confuse you more, I will break this down with an example.
If you take 1/2 teaspoon of FV and 1/2 teaspoon of Esbilac with probiotics, to that you are going to add 3 teaspoons of hot water.
Did I confuse you even more?

Nope! Not confused. All seem to be doing fine. Fat and full. Weights are 2 at 15g., 1 at17g, and 1 at 18g. Pee is beautiful and all are having the normal clearing of the black poo. Feeding is a challenge with them being so small but taking my time. No more blood out of the nose. They are pretty good except for some bruising and a small cut on 1 leg. Thanks for everything guys. I am glad I have all of you to fall on when questions arise.

My internet works! Well sadly to say at the 3am feeding I lost one. If you look at the picture it was the pale boy. Also I have one that will not maintain boy heat. Heating pad is half under and he is always on it but very cold. I have to warm him on my body. This started at about 12am he was warm until then but now ice to the touch. Suggestions? RIP sweet baby. Although you didn't have a name and were to new to leave us, we see you off to the rainbow bridge.

So sorry you lost one.....was he the one who was bleeding thru the nose?
With the one crawling off the heat, see if you can wrap him or encircle him a bit in the blankies so he doesn't wander, or yes, keep him in your shirt near your heart. He may need extra 'mommy vibes', y'know? I used to think that particular behavior with pinkies was a death sentence but my Owena here is alive and very well a year after being the coldest pinky who lived, EVER. :grin2

They were all bleeding through the nose. I have them in a "nest" of fleece and a peicee wrapped around them like a circle the bridges the heating pad and the no heating pad spaces. She is close to my heart most of the time but I put her away to sleep so I can get a cat nap between feedings and when I get her to feed she is ice even when on the pad so I just grab her first and stick her down my shirt while the others eat, then its her turn. She can maintain through out feeding I think because I just wrap my hand around her, but after that she goes cold. I have been giving her a massage thinking maybe circulation isn't great and that seems to help. Its so silly but even after 12 hours of having them I cried for pinkie that passed. I love these little stickie pink aliens! If all goes well with the rest I am taking name suggestions..... Bye bye pink heart robber :Love_Icon. Well another feeding down and time to get some sleep however brief it is. Thanks all, have I said yet that TSB is amazing? Well it is. On a side note I have 9 squirrels! Who would have thought the three a year ago would turn into 9 this year? 3 flyers, 3 grays, 3 pinkies! And the season is just beginning.

I lost them all. So upset. All ate and potty time went well and my freezing squirrel was keeping her heat and then I went to feed them and all were gone. I am praying it was not something I did. Followed everything to a T.

oh no! I'm so sorry. Perhaps in the fall, they sustained injuries that could not be seen. RIP little ones.

NM3, I am SO sorry. They were all bleeding through the nose - - they may have all sustained brain bleed and that is generally either fatal, as in this case, or results in severe neurological symptoms for life. You certainly did everything right and asked the right questions and gave it your 200%.....I'm so sorry they were just too injured to survive. :grouphug

Thank you pappy and IR. They did take a 100 foot fall no joke. I believe internal injury's were the cause. I have spent the last several hours going over all my notes I took with them and it seems to point in that direction. I feel I failed. Just buried them and sent them to the rainbow bridge with a snuggly and nuts.

Just hurts your heart to lose a tiny baby. They didn't go unloved and terrified--or mashed to death. May their next lives be lived in the love that surrounded thim at the end of this one. Sweet sleep babies :Love_Icon
