I don't know if this is a problem or not, Georges has had swollen anal glands before but the last time he was constipated and I gave him a mixture of chopped up prunes and crushed up HHB and some thing else I cant remember now, but any way now my poor baby's anal glands are really swollen and his poop is mushy, it is solid but if he steps in it it gets all over the place. I only noticed the swollen gland today but he has had the soft poop for a couple of days.
He is acting and eating fine, other then his bum which I can tell it bothers him some, I have been wiping it so he doesn't get it all over himself.
Should I just keep an eye on him and see how he is in a couple of days? or is there some thing I can do to help him bum?

How old is your little squirrel and what is he eating atm?
Keep the bottom clean / dry and apply medicated ointment.

George is 14 months old.
What kind of medicated ointment should I use, I have some triple antibiotic ointment would that work
Here is a list of the foods he eats, he doesn't eat every thing on the list at one time, this is what he normally eats. I did give him some sweet potato which he hasn't had in a while.
Homemade HHB 2-3 a day (my home made are smaller than Henry’s)
Butternut squash raw and cooked
Acorn squash
Radicchio
Avocado
Snap peas
Broccoli
Vanilla yogurt (full fat)
Cheerios 2-3 daily
1-2 nuts a day almonds, black walnuts, hazelnut, hickory nuts
Blueberries
Grapes
Strawberries

Poor little guy! what I would do is try not giving him the fruit for a couple of days, as fruit can cause 'the runs' in just about everyone. Buy some canned pumpkin (not the pie mix, just plain pumpkin) and see if he'll take some. This often normalizes the poop very well. If it continues, i suggest Dia-stat from foxvalleynutrition.com. One feeding of Dia-Stat usually straightens everything right out -- it's excellent. The only thing is you'd have to figure out how to give it to an adult squirrel who doesn't take formula....maybe by syringe.

IR he does LOVE his fruit, this morning I only gave him one blueberry. I will try stopping all fruit for a few days and see how that works.
