I did a search to find out if grapes are healthy for squirrels but came up with nothing. They're fairly cheap right now in Florida. Green and purple. Are they okay for wild squirrels?

Yes, I feed them to my wilds all the time. To be safe, I always cut them in half just so they do not choke on the skin. They usually hold them skin side out and scrape the insides with their teeth, then toss the skins all over my deck. Then the birds come and peck at the skins.
Oh, and always wash them before feeding!!

Thank you!!! Yes, I would wash them. I wash fruits I eat.....the weird wax they use on fruits and veggies cannot be good for humans or animals. But I hadn't thought about them choking on the skin. And like anything else, this wouldn't be their main food. There are many huge oak trees in my neighborhood.....acorns aplenty. Just this morning, one of my wilds dug up an old one and made a mess eating it.

Yes, they are safe for squirrels..... if feeding to young squirrels in rehab always remove peel to avoid chocking.

My one guy can peel a grape better than anything I have ever seen. He rolls it around, peeling as he goes and ends up with the prettiest round skinless grape that he then eats. :grin2

Also seedless. Or remove the seeds. I think the seeds are a no no.
