Is it ok to give my girl some morels?

Real honest to God morels are okay. False morels are poisonous. Make absolutely sure you know what you are doing when you collect. We have a member here who has hunted morels his entire life and still managed to make that mistake...his squirrel pulled through but the fact that it happened at all - to an experienced collector - decided me to do all of my mushroom hunting in the produce department of my local grocery.

These are wild mushrooms right? --unless you have personally seen the other wild squirrels
in your area eating the mushrooms I would not feed them to my squirrels, and you have to
make sure they do not have any pesticide sprayed on them.
I personally buy and feed my squirrels mushrooms from the grocery store --Portobello Mushrooms.

Not trying to hijack a thread but i was looking for something on this seeing its morel "hunting" time where i live. I personally do not go looking for them but a bunch of friends do. How do you tell the good from bad ones? Also what kinds of mushrooms are good for squirrels?

You can try any of the grocery store mushrooms. Portabella, schitake :) porcini, white, oyster, etc. I have flyers so Lord knows, I have bought every variety of mushrooms known to man and I don't even eat them. I have thrown at least a ton in the garbage can. :shakehead
It's hit or miss with mushrooms. They mostly won't eat them. I guess eventually I'll be ordering truffles from France. :rotfl
I see the wilds eat mushrooms in the yard. No doubt if I feed them one they would die. I read something that I think says it best. All mushrooms are edible... some only ONCE!
( just in case someone didn't GET that... that once is because you die).
