Just got back from taking a little girl to the vet teaching hospital. I was working outdoors and she parked herself in a bird bath in the garage. In order to coax her out, I gave her some walnuts. She seemed to have trouble finding them and quickly just laid down. She even allowed the neighbor cat to sniff her bottom. I decided very quickly that she was in trouble, so got a cat carrier, tossed a blanket over her and took her in. They found that she has broken teeth and has probably been unable to eat, hence her weakened state. They said they will do what they can, if they can give her a decent quality of life, otherwise, they will send her on to the Rainbow Bridge. I've never heard of such a thing, and wondered if any of you have either. What, on earth, might cause this? I don't have much hope for her rehabilitation, and doubt she could ever survive in the wild again. Poor sweet little girl - prayers for her.

She probably fell and landed on her face. They do fall and have this happen sometimes. If they can trim her teeth to being straight, her teeth may grow back properly.

Thanks - I hope they will do that if at all possible. Never thought of that. She definitely was very thin and low energy. Prayers for this sweetie. I did ask that they allow me to bring her home if she makes it.

Many prayers form me as well. So hard to see these little ones have that sort of issue. :grouphug:Love_Icon:grouphug
