Hey everyone! I'm a long time viewer, and a new poster. I'm hoping I can find a kind soul on here that knows a thing or two about birds. A few hours ago I was sitting on my front porch when I heard a chirping sound, only to look over to find my cat behaving suspiciously. I went over to check to see what was going on and he had a little baby bird that he was slapping around and carrying in his mouth. I reacted quickly and got the baby from him. After looking the bird over I did not see any noticeable open wounds or broken bones. I brought him inside and put him in a plastic bowl with shredded tissue paper and placed that inside of a clothes basket. It's nearly 3 am right now and he was found at around 11 pm. Of course, the rehabilitation center is closed. Will the bird be okay till morning? Is there anything else I should do for it? The baby is currently in a dark and quiet room. On a side note, I'm going to attempt to upload a picture from my phone. I can't for the life of me place what type of bird this may be!

The eyes are open but the bird has been sleeping since I put him in the "nest" that I made, he also has all of his feathers.

:Welcome Addym.

I have sent an alert to one of our bird rehabbers, hopefully you will
hear from them come day break. I'm sure other's will respond once
their day starts.
Whatever type bird it does look like a fledgling. They are very often
on the ground for a few days as momma is teaching them to fly,
unfortunately this is where roaming cats often get to them.
You may want to try and see if mom is around in the morning and try
to re-unite. In the meantime if you could put some type of weighted
(shallow) dish of water in with him it would be beneficial.
You have done good with the dark, warm and quiet. :thumbsup

It depends on his injuries whether he will survive.
Cat bites are very dangerous to birds, they can't naturally fight off that kind of bacteria, hopefully his injuries are not life threatening and the wildlife center can save him.
Please keep cats indoors, it's baby season
