My two little ones are licking me all over the place. In larger animals I think of licking being a sign of a mineral deficiency...is that the case with squirrels? Feeding esbilac powder every 4 hours until full...They we're quite malnourished when I got them. Licking doesn't seem to correlate with feeding either. Also, cat food...they seem to be quite fond of little pieces they find...no worries they are nowhere near the cat...is cat food a no no...If so I'll have to do some major rearranging for their play time...they seem to enjoy playing with each other in the cat tree when the cat is outside during the day.

They are just grooming you and tasting your scent...... try not to worry, but we do need to get them away
from the cat food and onto a better diet. Have you heard of HHB? Your squirrels need to be eating these
yummy nutrition blocks daily along with vegetables from the acceptable food list from the link below.

Yes I know of henrys...they are only 5-6 weeks old...will be ordering them blocks middle of next week. I think I might not have been clear...I don't actually feed them cat food...They have found a few pieces on the cat tree...I am just wondering if a piece or two is going to hurt anyone or if I should stop letting them play on the cat tree for fear of not getting every scrap of food picked up.
As for their diet they are on formula until the blocks arrive. I'll let them get used to the blocks before adding other healthy options...As suggested by many here :)
