Help!! My husband found a baby squirrel next to her mother whom had been shot and he brought it home, now I think I have him bottle babied because she wont eat any food and now come to find out, I think I have been giving him the wrong milk(was giving kitten milk replacement, gives the poops very bad) but now I know what to get. I've had her for 1 week now, don't know how old she is but wants me to give her bottle all the time. I'm so glad I found this web site. Please help...

You want to give him esbilac milk. I would recommend using a syringe to feed him instead of a bottle. It is easier to control the amount they take at once with less likelyhood of him aspirating. It is hard to say how often to feed without knowing how old he is. Are his eyes open?
Do you have a rehabber in your area that you could take him to so he could be raised with other squirrels?
Whoa - Slow down. DON'T PANIC :D To safely switch your baby's formula the trick is to do it slowly. Esbilac mixed full strength is 1 part esbilac in 2 parts water. Start at half strength ie 1 part esbliac in 4 parts warm water. After a couple of feedings you can go to 1 in 3. Keep an eye on the stool. It can take a couple of days to bring a baby up to full strength. Another trick is to mix a small amount of organic yogurt into the formula (vanilla is good) This will help correct the stool.
Look for the age charts on the other threads to give us an idea of how old your baby is. That will tell how many feedings a day your baby needs. Also a gram scale (wal-mart has one oin the kitchen gadgets cheap) will assit us in determining how much should be fed at each feeding. Over feeding can cause as many problems as under feeding:D
