Does any one do Turtle Care in or around the Lakeland, Florida area?

I just received a call from a local vet in the area and they have a small turtle
that one of their clients brought in with a cracked shell that is in need of care
and rehabbing until it is all better and can be released.

FYI --its a small baby snapping alligator turtle.

I have never taken care of a turtle with a broken shell and do not have a clue
what is needed. Any ideals? Or any one up for the challenge?

:thankyou

I've heard that superglue has been used for that.
Can't swear to it.

Hello,

Yes, I have done turtle shell repair but I am in Kansas. :( There are turtle rehab facilities in Florida, although I don't know what or where they are off the top of my head. I will do a internet search for you.

Also, do not use superglue....dependent on the wound, the shell needs to be able to grow back together OR the tissue should be left uncovered and will harden over time. (Granularity) If you cover it with superglue, infection can occur.

Rhapsody, is there a way to get a photo for mcafer to see?
That might help in evaluating.
