Cleaning/disinfecting scratching post

What can I use to clean/disinfect Toby's scratching post?

Vacuum it really well then rub it down with a rag wet with white vinegar, scrub it hard with the cloth to get down into material, let it dry in the sun for a couple of hours and it will be nice and fresh!!!!
