he does not seem to be in pain...only when he is sucking on his nipple he makes a whining noise and it bleeds a little i think i may be one of his teeth or his tongue

Teething, like Lilidukes said. It looks like a lot of blood, but it's really not that much. Some do it all the time and others never do it. Always freaks me out the first time or two I see it. Squirt will be fine. :thumbsup

Yup I agree with lilidukes, he is getting his teeth, and it's scary when you first see it. :eek

Certainly wouldn't want to remove a good question that someone else might take comfort in. There are no stupid question, Silly! We have all worried about things that we now know are normal!:grin3

I wish that I had known that when I found my first baby squirrel. I also secretly cried for him that he was severely disabled, because he had no thumbs or long thumb nails to climb with.:sanp3:rotfl What was I going to do with such a diabled squirrel?:eek

I just had this happen to mine today and if someone on here hadn't told me it might happen soon, I would have been JUST LIKE YOU. So, please don't remove this thread. Maybe someone else see it BEFORE it happens to them. :grin2

My little Buttercup kept bleeding from her mouth every feeding. She would not be bleeding when she started, but the side of her face would be bloody each feeding. After investigating her, I found that she was scratching the side of her mouth with her claws, while she was attempting to kneed her momma's belly (granted, there is not momma, but there is a syringe). She would repeatedly rake her face with her claws until she cut her lip each time. Since then, we have made a momma's belly (felt with rice inside and a slit for the syringe to slip through) and it lets her kneed the belly while she eats. Since then, no more blood!
