I was lookin at my babys eyes hes about six weeks to seven weeks old and i noticed that they are a bluish color with a little tinge of white in them so i tried to see if he could see things and hes not really looking for his food and stuff hes just smelling for it also he seems to have a blue spot on his belly down by his right leg.. i just noticed it maybe bec he is getting bigger what could this be?

Well, I am not sure about the blue spot on his belly, but the vision issues can be caused by poor nutrition. The good thing about the vision issues is that they can sometimes be corrected by good nutrition.
That poor guy is so lucky to have you!!!:grouphug

You will have to watch how the eyes progress. Can you get a pic of the mark on the leg? Could be a bruise, perhaps.

yeah he was starved when i got him so he was badly malnurished nancy even asked me if i thought he were blind but i couldnt really tell then. he is on fv now and hhb he hasnt started on anything else yet but i think i may introduce him to vegetables pretty soon just dont want to change anything so suddenly since he has had such a hard time already. im gona try to take a pic of his belly in a sec if i can get my camera to work right

well i cant get it to show up for some reason i think there may be something wrong with my usb cable im gonna go get another one and try to upload it in a little bit but it does look like a bruise. he did fall in his kennel the other day and he was trying to get out and squeezed through the bars and got stuck for a sec before getting out but i went and get him a cage with closer bars. im thinking that may be what it was

was just about to take another pic bec the other one was blurry and its gone he didnt feel cold or anyything it was after i was feeding him that i noticed it...could it be bec he is so small that i can see his organs... i know it sounds weird but i doubt it was a bruise since i cant see it now

It might have been his organs or possibly his bowels. Glad it's gone either way!:thumbsup

You know for now, seeing that he is so small for his age, etc. I think that I would keep him stricktly on formula and blocks.
Did you get the HHB's, and is he eating them?
Squirrels that are on formula and stay on formula, have a much better shot at NOT getting MBD as the formula is ALL encompassing. If he is eating formula and block you are going to have one healthy little squirrel there. Once they start on veggies then it is sort of a guessing game, because they tend to like some things and usually not the things that are best for them. Did you see the link to the healthiest choices for squirrels?
He can have as much from group 1 and 2 as he wants, once you introduce veggies.

Give him things to chew on like little branches, just make sure they are on the safe list for squirrels to have. We need to keep his teeth "short" so they don't over grow.
Do you know how the initial finder got him? I wonder if he could have taken a fall. :dono

yeah i ordered the hhb's they should be coming in today but right now he has the kaytee mice rat and hamster ones... he nibbles on it a bit but i dont think he likes the taste of it much. ill take a look at the chart and ill go find him some sticks today thanks and i will keep him on the formula and hhbs for now
