Ok so I have been nursing Squirt im not sure exactly how old he is. his eyes have been opened about a week. so my question is i think he is good on the sugar water between feedings. should i just switch to plain ol water and do i use syrrenge for water still or should i get hima bottle for his water. he is very active now.. he has got out of his kennel i have him in several times today so i am going to go buy him a hampster cage or something with really close bars for the time being. i dont want to get anything too big because he was climbing in the kennel today and fell and i am terrified he is going to hurt himself. he went from being a small lethargic baby to a very hyper baby so fast and i wasnt expecting a big change so suddenly.

Once my babies start eating their hhb at 8 weeks old I generally place a
glass water bottle in their cage with them so they will have some thing
to drink when they are thirsty or need some water after eating the block.

You can certainly hang a water bottle now, and he should also be offered block as well, since his eyes are now open. I usually put Mazuri rodent blocks in with them even before they open their eyes, change it out every day, so it isn't soiled or wet. You can continue to do plain water for a little bit just to make sure he is getting water as well.

An HHB is actually a Henry's healthy block. Just two blocks a day is all you feed for a squirrels daily nutrition. There are several different kinds, but if you choose to order them for Squirt, you should order the growth blocks.
