I am preparing to take my Wildlife rehabilitation exam in Georgia. I have been rehabbing and releasing squirrels for 23 years. But I am not at all familiar with certain other wildlife (ie birds). Squirrels and small mammals will be my only guests. I am wondering if anyone here could enlighten me regarding what exactly to expect on the test. I am familiar and have studied the guides recommended by ga dept of nat resources, but would love to know how much "bird stuff" the exam will contain.

hi- congrats on wanting to officially join the ranks of the Few, the Proud, and the Pooped Upon! We certainly need your help here in rehabber-land :grin2
Every state exam is different, but it did seem as if there was a LOT of avian stuff on my exam (NY). Maybe because I had no intention of rehabbing birds so it didn't stick with me as easily, but there was quite a bit. I can say that if you have the study guide and really go over those questions, there won't be any surprise questions or things that were not in the guide. They are pretty specific about that, which is a relief! Have someone take the book and ask you random questions -- this worked very well for me. :thumbsup

Thank you Island Rehabber. I was afraid that avian questions would be plentiful. I will just have to s.t.u.d.y more 😂😂😂!
And, yes...I too wear the distinguished scent of pee and poop. It's my perfume of choice!
