i just found a squirrel laying on the ground under a tree at my apartment complex and im pretty sure its at least partially paralyzed- it dosent seem happy about being near people but i couldnt just leave it to die...
i havent noticed any physical injuries (aside from paralyzation)but it tries to bite when it has the chance so i havent been able to check so well)
my boyfriend wrapped it in a blanket and its now in a small cage with some water and food
i have no idea whats wrong with it and am really not in a position to help aside from passing (its small so im blindly guessing its female) her on to someone who can
i cant keep her inside because i keep pet rats and dont want to risk there health not to mention my cat would never let the poor thing sleep so shes on my patio its chilly tonight though i hope she stays warm
il post again in the morning if she survives the night..she seems young and like she has a chance if someone can help her..
I'm attaching a list of Wildlife rehabbers in Florida. http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contactA.htm#fl
Soneone on this list is hopefully near you and can help. In the mean time please keep the squirrel in a quiet warm place away from peolpe and pets. If this doesn't work out let us know and we can try to come up with more help. And thank you for caring. :)

I just moved out of South Florida and I know a rehabber around there. I will see if I can reach her. If the little girl is still alive this morning, I will pass along her contact information if she can help.

Sorry, this is all the help my friend could offer. She's not familiar with a rehab center close to you.
"She needs to go on line and find a rehabber in her area. If she can't find one on line then she needs to get ahold of animal control or ASPCA in her area."

:thankyou breaksystm for caring enough not to just walk by, you sound like a true pet and nature person. So glad TSB could help you find someone to take the squirrel and give it a chance to make it.
We have lots of people on here that have rats, please look around and we would love to hear more about you and your pets.
Great job everyone coming together to help this lil squirrel out :thumbsup

so the little girl (confirmed girl now) is now safely in the hands of a caregiver who also happens to be a friend of my dad's neighbor who's a bird lover and has helped rescue similar cases (small world huh)
the lady even asked where i found her so she could bring her back once she's better =)
so im happy to report things for the little fuzzball worked out as best they could thanks to everyone for helping! <3
