Itciku's tooth split today when the vet was trimming his teeth today. The vet didn't seem too worried but gave me some antibiotics to give him. He said to give 0.2 ml 1 time a day. Itchiku's about 300 grams at most. I don't the strength of the liquid but it seems a lot when I look at the syringe.
I would also like someone to help by asking, if their vet is knowledgeably in squirrel dentistry, about Itchiku's case. The tooth that split is the one that is invading his nasal cavity.
Cheers, Tony.

Hi Tony. So sorry about poor Itchiku's tooth; I will email my vet and ask his opinion.
Can you give us all the info that is on the antibiotic bottle? If it is already a suspension, the fact that the amount looks large may be merely because the med is suspended in a palatable solution to make it easier to give him.

It was given to me in a plastic bottle. The only information I have is the dose 0.2 cc- the cc has been circled albeit the Thai writing so maybe that is an important note? would that sound right. That's how they give out meds here. I guess it makes it cheaper for everyone. cost 90 baht for 100ml. about $2.80.

That's a great price -- it costs a mint around here. :grin
According to my books, the daily dose of enrofloxacin in a 22.7mg/ml strength is just a bit over 0.1 for a 300g animal. The 0.2 prescribed might be a bit heavy -- that is the dose given for a 500g animal, once per day.

Found out it is Enroflox 10. The vet said is 10gr/ml. It must have a nice taste as it's a challenge to get the syringe off of him.

I think that is half the strength my book lists so the 0.2 dose would then be fine.
