tinfoilHi, we've been lucky not to find an injuried squirrel in the yard this year. I've spent the time getting ready for our next hurricane. I've finished my Indoor Enclosure which is 8' x 7' x 3'. I'm only experienced with one happy RELEASED squirrel - "Spiffy" and my lil injuried baby "Nuttsy Noodleman" who didn't make it (who started all this).

Because of our commitments I'm only capable of sheltering a Releasable Grey Squirrel - Male or Female. Please don't ask if I can adopt an NR.

The new enclosure below has a tree, tons of fleece, food and an electric heating pad ready at a moments notice. I hope you like.

PS. Would like to see squirrels and always hear from other squirrel members on this thread during this Holiday Season

Great job on the cages! :thumbsup
I have no doubt some little one will find it's way to you in time,
and it is just a matter of time.
Unfortunately there will always be a need, fortunately there are
those like yourself. :thankyou :grouphug

great job, toybox! love the little round hatches! Can you feed them thru those too? A small door to put food thru is, IMHO, a must-have in a release cage. It enables you to be less hands-on with the soon to be free kids in there, and it lessens the possibility of 'premature releases' (Houdini events :grin) by 1000%. It's the one thing I wish I had in my release cages....I have to open the enormous doors (4' x 4') and throw the food in, praying that nobody prangs off my head into the Great Beyond before their time.....:shakehead.

tinfoilYes, the "Portholes" were designed with feeding and "anti-Houdini" events in mind. I was in the same position with my first cage. Had to open the whole door... and wham, the chance of keeping Spiffy in was "0". We'll see if it works??
