Is cantaloupe okay for squirrels? I'm eating one now and can't finish the rest. Would it be okay to give it to them with the rine on it?

you can try. I have found that neithr cantaloupe nor honeydew goes over well with my squirrels, but give it a try. :grin

Four or five of ours will eat the cantloupe but the rest, like IR's, don't care for it for some reason. Reach in with some Papaya and you will lose a finger if you don't let it go though!!!! :grin3

I gave it to my rehabs and they nibbled on it a little bit lol. I guess it's better than throwing it out! Lol. And yeah everyone loves Papaya!

Cantalope is hit and miss in my household.
My girl will eat on a piece I'm eating but go
out and buy one for her and it'll rot before
she touches it...

Cantaloupe and honeydews are unfortunately regularly harvested before they should be so they can be sold in stores. Most of the ones you see will either be under-ripe or over-ripe. That's why they're hit or miss with people AND animals. You'd be amazed if you ever tasted a correctly harvested one. :grin2

Same here...... my squirrels seem to dislike cantaloupe, but will eat watermelon.
