Is it normal to have a grey squirrel sniffing/snorting every five minutes or so? It isn't related to feeding, and seems to happen sometimes when he's tired of chewing on my fingers.
(BTW, I think he's about pushed the limits between nibbling and painful chewing.)
I'm thinking it's normal (or neurotic), but wanna be sure he isn't sick.

I just took him outside, and within several breaths, he went "Ch, Ch", almost as if he was clearing his nose of inside air. Besides letting air in and out, a nose is an amazing chemical sensor, so maybe he's OK?
:thinking I have no idea what to tell you about this one. Is there something in your house/room where he stays that may be irritating his nose/sinsus?

Squirrels do snort, or "pfffft!' quite often as they are exploring things. Make sure there aren't chemical irritants in your home like plug-in air fresheners, heavy laundry soap perfumes (Tide comes to mind) or dryer sheets (a major allergy-causer).

Not anything I can think of. My allergist said I need to be a bubble boy, so we're pretty clean.
I haven't heard him do it in quite a while, so maybe I'm just being a worried "mommie".

Except for all the poo he keeps laying down, faster than I can clean it. :grin2
Fortunately for both of us, he seems to be hypoallergenic. I'm allergic to anything with fur and feathers, but he doesn't set me off.
