Please help. My friend has a opossum. He's not eating. Been to the vet already, given flea treatment and special food. But still throwing it up. Tried nutrical too, but throwing that up also. It doesn't look good.

I've got her doing fluid therapy. He's holding that down. Vet would have given him a transfusion but he didn't want to put him under, afraid it might kill him.

I'm sorry to say it was too late for the little man. I learned at the vet that just 3 fleas can suck a ml of blood a day. I'm so sorry for not checking on this little guy before it was too late.
He wasn't with me, just a girl I know, I'd like to call her my friend, but after this, I don't know. How could you let it get that bad before you noticed an infestation?:soapbox

Sorry for taking up yall's time.

RIP Little man, you were an awesome possum

Poor little guy. RIP :Love_Icon:Love_Icon

I echo what Squirrellove said. Don't blame her, as she didn't know, but rather educate her. Opossums take special people to take them in, and they will need her again, I am sure. Teach her so she can be there for them, better than ever!
