My three cuties are starting to nip a bit harder than usual. I know that it is normal for them to do so, but it makes me curious. Does anyone know what else I should be doing for their chomping urges? I go "stick and branch hunting" so they can chomp away; they have plenty of safe plush toys to tear up; plus they get plenty of shelled nuts to break into. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :thankyou

Deer antlers are great for them to gnaw on too. Mine love them!

People talk about "cuttlebone". Apparently you can get them at pet stores?

Yes, they are in the bird section.

I'm not sure if I can get ahold of any deer antlers. I did find small pieces of elk antler at a supply store so I bought one. It was so hard and smooth, almost porcelain like but my trio took no interest in it. I wonder if a clean round steak bone or a bone from a t-bone would work.

I've seen cuttlebone. I'll pick one up soon and hope it helps! :o

I got my deer antlers at the local pet store in the dog bone section - maybe your pet store doesn't carry them? Also, in the rabbit and gerbil section, you can find wooden blocks in different shapes and colors that are suppose to be safe for them to chew on and Lenny just loved those! I bought a hanging kabob type thing to put them on and he had hours of fun chewing on them and figuring out how to get them out and hide them around his cage! :grin2
