I was worried the other day that Reggie8-9 weeks seemed hungry all the time and wasn't getting enough, he ate the FV that night, no problem, increased the amount and he was happy. The next morning, he wouldn't take it. He ate his block just fine and some veggies just fine, had a pecan at bedtime. He is eating a little more, but it just seems strange that he would go from ravenous with the FV to not wanting more than about 6cc's a feeding. He is active, peeing and pooping and pooping and pooping. He plays all the time, drinks water and eats other stuff, I figured this was just him weaning himself, it just seems very sudden. My husband says I am a spazz, that I managed to raise 4 humans ages 19-3, but a squirrel worries me and drives me to distraction. Anyway, I would appreciate any input. Thank you to everyone who patiently answers my million questions about my little Reggie the spunky monkey.

IN MY OPINION, BASED ONLY UPON MY EXPERIENCE WITH MY TWO 7 1/2 MONTHS OLD SQUIRREL GIRLS, IT IS TOO SOON TO WEAN AND A LITTLE TOO SOON TO BE INTRODUCING ANY SOLID FOODS OTHER THAN HHB'S. THE ADDITION OF MULTIPLE SOLID FOODS WILL REDUCE HIS APPETITE FOR FORMULA (AND FOR BLOCKS AS WELL) WHEN THOSE TWO THINGS SHOULD BE THE CORNERSTONE OF HIS DIET. I WOULD STICK WITH JUST FORMULA AND BLOCKS FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS, THEN BEGIN TO SLOWLY INTRODUCE VEGGIES...JUST TWO OR THREE TO START FROM THE APPROVED LIST FOUND ON THE HENRY'S SITE. DO NOT GIVE UP ON THINGS THAT HE IGNORES AT FIRST. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM NUTS AND FRUIT TOTALLY UNTIL HE IS EATING HIS VEGGIES WELL. YOU WANT HIM TO LEARN TO LOVE THE THINGS THAT ARE GOOD FOR HIM...THEY WILL ALL EAT THE JUNK FOOD WITHOUT ANY PRODDING. GIVE HIM PLENTY OF FRESH CUT STICKS AND DEER ANTLERS TO CHEW ON. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Thanks, he's been doing really well, the only veggie he get is kale and that is only after he has had his FV and block, he loves the HHB, eats it with no problem. I will cut the kale and just give the block and formula. if he doesn't take it any better over the next few days, I am sure I will be back for more suggestions.
