Please help! I don't know if this is life threatening or not. My little boy bit off and swallowed a part of a nipple when he was nursing. It wasn't the whole thing. It was a centimeter or one and a quarter centimeters long. The narrow part. Is he going to be able to poo this out? Can I give him a laxative? Will he be OK??? He is around 10 weeks old.

Thanks CrazySquirrelLady! I'm so glad that theres some hope. How long does it take for stuff to go through their system or get stopped up? He was supposed to move to his outdoor home in a week and a half. Will I know by then if he can go?

You can believe I am hoping for the best!!! praying...

Where in New York are you located?
Are you overwintering him?

I'm in NYC. He will overwinter in a large outdoor enclosure with 15 or so others. There will be someone else taking care of them.

The place he is going to is near the southwest corner of Green mt national forest in Vermont.

The owner of the board is from City Island in the Bronx, her name is island rehabber. :tilt
Welcome to TSB!
It's great that you have a place for him to be overwintered!

He should be ok, but as stated, keep a good eye on him. Umm, overwintered outside??? I hope they have well insulated boxes.

they've overwintered a lot of squirrels there before and are set up for it. I think it is okay.

I will watch him closely here. Do you know how long he needs to be watched for? so I can pass on the instructions to the overwintering people.
