Hey guys. It's been a few years since I've been on here. I have raised about 10+ baby squirrels, some fox some great. Most have been raised and released except for my Alvin and I had him f for around 7 years. I now have an orphaned flying squirrel. I think it is about 4 weeks old. He has his eyes open and has fur. He was rescued from a dog but I don't think he has any injuries. I've had him since Thursday. He's eating and everything. I just wondered if it was basically the same raising him as it is raising other squirrels ? And what age do they start going to the bathroom on their own ? Thanks!

Here is a link to Anne's handout on baby flyers. I am raising 2 myself, but they are my first. So far I would say yes, they are very similar. Mine are about 4 weeks old now and they opened their eyes just over a week ago. They have started going to the bathroom on their own but I still stimulate just in case. They really aren't going for me now though. They're so very precious. Hope this helps!!
