I am wondering if instead of giving fresh avacados, can you feed guacamole to flyers? Are there any that don't have additives and preservatives in them? I'm just curious, I would love to find another food source for my furbies. The buttons on fresh avacados take too many to feed 7 of them! Thanks for any input!

Sorry Everyone! I had a major brain mal-function. For some reason I had an artichoke pictured in my head- DUH! But, do they put anything in ground up guacamole say for fajitas? My Wal-Mart doesn't carry fresh avacados but has guacamole. Is that okay to give flyers?

Buying pre-made guac is always going to have cayenne and preservatives in it. I would read the ingredient label first. I am not sure how good hot peppers are for squirrels. Is there another store that carries fresh avocado so that you could make it without the spices?

Guac has onions, garlic, and hot peppers in it, so it's a bad idea to feed to a squirrel.

But, you are in the Carolinas. Go see if you can find a farmer nearby who grows avocados! Or a farmer's market! It's way better for you, not to mention the squees, if you get real produce (Wal-Mart's stuff is definitely not 'real' produce ;-) )
