Hi everyone.
Last thursday we found a baby red squirrel outside at my work, he was apparently sitting in a puddle in the driveway. They put him outback near a tree and watched him climb up it, but a couple hours later he found his way into the packhouse and onto someone's boot! He spent the rest of the workday curled up in my hair, and I took him home. I've been feeding him Esbilac, but just ordered the Fox Valley formula. I will be ordered the rodent blocks too.
He weighed 47 grams the first night, I actually haven't weighed him recently but will today! I think he might be around 6-7 weeks? His eyes are open, he goes to the bathroom fine by himself, he's completely covered in fur and his tail can curl over his back. The first 24 hours I had him he spent most his time sleeping, recently he's been more active (he enjoys running around my room) and sleep sucking. I've been feeding him every four hours. Since its already September I will probably keep him for the winter.
Does it sound like I'm on the right track? Am I feeding him enough? When do I start lessening the formula?
Here's a picture of the little guy
