Sandra just noticed a red spot on Nuggets front paw. It doesn't seem to be bothering him. Keeping a eye on it. This is the best picture that I can get for now.

I haven't seen any ants but will search high and low. We are constantly cleaning his cage and haven't seen anything but that doesn't mean that they are not there. Keep you updated.

Sounds like you are taking the right steps if you think it might be pox. Hopefully it's just a bug bite and will go away soon.

Pox? Does he have contact with wilds or rescues? I think the only other method of transmission would be from a mosquito bite?
I hope little Nugget just has an insect bite but some immune booster certainly can't hurt.

No contact with wilds or rescues. He is indoors all the time. I hope it's just an insect bite.

Just keep an eye on it, examine the squirrel all over daily, to see if any more bumps come up.

We did have a mosquito flying around but not in his room. Going to rip his room apart and look for ants, spiders and anything else that crawls or flys.

yes, he is inside. We keep the door and screen on so no bugs come in, but sometimes you cant control when a fly or mosquito comes in.:frustratedx
But thank you...:thumbsup..

Than that would mean that a Mosquito would have to feed on an outdoor, infected wild squirrel and then get into your house and feed on Nugget. Odds would appear to be pretty slim. I think giving Nugget some immune boosters can't hurt so I would do the same thing you are doing. Better safe than sorry.
Hope Nugget feels better soon!
